The Idea

Where does the idea come from?

tHE IDEA

The idea of creating the Villarreal Copenhagen stems from my professional experience in football and my passion for developing young talent. I had the opportunity to work as a coach and coordinator at the Villarreal Academy in Sydney, where I was able to manage both the administrative area and the implementation of the club's methodology from within.

During that time, I was able to see up close how Villarreal's methodology, focused on playing in small spaces, ball possession, and real match situations, had a very positive impact on the training of footballers. I also believe that in countries like Denmark, there is enormous potential to implement this innovative approach, combined with a growing demand for quality programs backed by a prestigious international club.

It was then that I realized that this philosophy could not only help develop the future footballers of Denmark but also connect young people with a world-class methodology that fosters decision-making and a combinative style of play, very characteristic of Spanish football.

I decided to partner with Villarreal because I know firsthand the effectiveness and prestige of their methodology, having worked directly with it for 3 years. Villarreal is not only a club recognized for competing at the highest level in Europe, but it is also a leader in developing young talent, being the cradle of world-class players like Alex Baena, Gerard Moreno, and Yeremy Pino, who have demonstrated the value of a training based on excellence. This positions Villarreal as an elite academy with proven results.

What truly sets Villarreal apart is its commitment to a style of play based on possession, understanding the game and match situations, in addition to exercises that prioritize decision-making. This approach not only develops players' technical and tactical skills but also their football intelligence and ability to adapt to different game scenarios.

The Goals

What are the long-term goals of the Academy?

Our long-term goal is to provide a high-quality service for players aged 5 to 16, regardless of their level. We firmly believe in the training process and that, through our methodology, players can reach a high level of football, always enjoying the experience of playing.

In addition to focusing on technical and tactical development, we place great importance on human formation, instilling the sporting values of Villarreal CF, such as respect, effort, teamwork, and humility. These values are fundamental for the growth of each player both on and off the field.

The partnership with Villarreal will not only allow us to train great footballers but also provide our players with unique opportunities to grow and stand out at an international level. We have the support of one of the best sports cities in the world, located in Spain, which has been key in preparing elite players.
